About Black Forest Clocks

Rudi Fehrenbach and his son Bernd Live and work in the Black Forest Of Germany. This is where they hand carve Black Forest Clocks. Rudi has been in business for over 50 years as a master wood carver. For over 5 generations the Fehrenbach family has been hand carving and assembling the finest of German Cuckoo Clocks.

The Black Forest is located in the southern part of Germany. It is a beautiful German Forest and is a big tourist spot. Many people come to the Black Forest every year and at all times of the year. Guests often watch Rudi and Bernd at work hand carving their famous Cuckoo Clocks. Cuckoo Clocks are not all this father and son team make. They also make regular wall clocks and floor clocks. (grandfather Clocks).

The Fehrenbach’s do leave the beautiful Black Forest country often to attend exhibitions, craft fairs and Christmas Markets. They enjoy promoting the art of hand carving clocks and their products. These markets were only national in nature. They have since become international and the Black Forest Clocks are now marketed in the United States, Austria and Japan just to name a few countries.

Another Famous Black Forest Clock making family is the Herr’s. Clocks By Hubert Herr has been in business since the early 19th century. The herr family has 2 factories in Triberg/Black-Forest, Germany where all the clocks are made. They employ only skilled craftsman that can produce the quality that they demand. The clocks by Hubert Herr company guarantee that every clock is hand carved. Hubert Herr cuckoo-clocks are exported to more than 60 countries in the world.
